Organic Waste Decomposition in Tirana’s Restaurants

The restaurants of Tirana are bustling with activity and generate a considerable amount of organic waste, increasing the pressure on the city’s waste management infrastructure and public health. The lack of an adequate composting system contributes to environmental pollution and the loss of valuable natural resources.

This project tackled a significant environmental and public health issue by improving the management of organic waste in restaurants. It is expected to have a positive impact on air quality and the overall environment, creating a cleaner and more sustainable setting for both residents and tourists in Tirana. The project was supported by the Municipality of Tirana and implemented by our association, “Shtëpia e Gjelbër” (The Green House).
