Installation of Bicycle Racks

September 22nd in Pogradec was a project aimed at improving conditions for bicycle users. With the participation of the association’s volunteers, a unique bicycle ride event was launched. With the support of local businesses, several bicycle racks were installed, designed in a way that reminds both citizens and numerous visitors that the fresh air and the lake’s breeze can be best enjoyed by using a bicycle. This initiative, which started on September 22nd, has continued as a project of the association in other public spaces as well.

As part of our ongoing work as an association focused on the area around Lake Ohrid, we are collaborating with GIZ and the Municipality of Buçimas. GIZ, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Water Management of Albania, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of North Macedonia, and the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro, is implementing a project for the protection and sustainable use of biodiversity in the three cross-border lakes of Ohrid, Prespa, and Shkodra (CSBL).

In this context, the Municipality of Buçimas has signed an agreement for the implementation of the project for the protection and restoration of Drilon, a part of the territory under the administration of this municipality.

Our association has been selected by the Municipality of Buçimas to implement this project, which has already completed several phases up to this point.
