Nature Education Trail – Prespa e Vogël
As part of the “Life Around Water” project, we organized an expedition to Small Prespa to explore this unique ecosystem up close and to better understand the interaction between humans, water, biodiversity, and protected landscapes. The wild terrain, dense reed beds, and characteristic lake vegetation created ideal conditions for observation and learning in nature.
During the exploration, we also visited natural caves, where we identified wild species living in these sensitive habitats, emphasizing once again the importance of monitoring and protecting them.
Paddling by kayak through the wetlands allowed us to observe the aquatic areas and the biodiversity they support up close, providing a valuable experience both educationally and scientifically.
This expedition represents an important step in strengthening the connection with nature and raising awareness about the conservation of aquatic habitats, which are an irreplaceable resource for local communities and future generations.
The project is implemented within the framework of Green-AL and, together with our partners GO2 Albania and Discover Pogradec, we believe this is an important opportunity to strengthen the connection between people and nature and to preserve our water resources for future generations.
The Green-AL project “Support to Civil Society Organizations 2024–2027” is funded by Sida with funds from the Swedish Government and implemented by Co-PLAN, in cooperation with VIS Albania and COSV – Cooperazione per lo Sviluppo.
