Workshop 3 – “Women Who Respect Nature” in Drilon, Pogradec

On 12 October, the third workshop, “Women Who Respect Nature,” will take place in Drilon, Pogradec, as part of the “Life Around Water” project, which focuses on the visible and hidden inhabitants of Lakes Ohrid and Prespa.

The workshop will explore the connection between everyday practices, local traditions, and environmental protection. Discussions will focus on how women can contribute to reducing waste, reusing materials, saving resources, and protecting biodiversity through cooking, handicrafts, and the responsible use of local plants.

Special attention will also be given to the sustainable collection of wild plants, encouraging practices that allow nature to regenerate, while preserving and passing traditional knowledge from one generation to the next.

The activity aims to strengthen a more informed and engaged community and to support the sustainable protection of the Ohrid–Prespa ecosystems, which face increasing pressures from urbanisation, seasonal tourism, and agriculture.
