On-site meetings, Prespa lakes

As part of the “Life Around Water” project, we held an expedition to the Prespa Lakes, to explore these unique ecosystems up close and better understand the interaction between humans, water, biodiversity, and protected landscapes. The varied terrain along the lake shores, dense reed beds, and characteristic vegetation created ideal conditions for observation and learning in nature.

During the visit, we also had the opportunity to meet with the mayor of the municipality, with whom we discussed the importance of preserving the lakes, sustainable management of water resources, and collaboration with local communities to protect biodiversity.

The project is implemented under Green-AL, and together with our partners GO2 Albania and Discover Pogradec, we believe this is an important opportunity to strengthen the human-nature connection and safeguard our water resources for generations to come.

The Green-AL project “Support for Civil Society Organizations 2024–2027” is funded by Sida with funds from the Swedish Government and implemented by Co-PLAN, in collaboration with VIS Albania and COSV – Cooperazione per lo Sviluppo.
